A Day In The Life Of..

Saturday,  Sweetheart took me to a sale ...down the way.  I spotted this old bed-skirt with the inset lace. (That neither I or my computer can spell.)   I really love old fabric textiles...So...now it belongs to..me! (ya!) The workmanship is very fine..and the condition was.. very good.

I started my day  today by soaking it in a whitening solution and then hanging out to sun!

After a day in the wind and sunshine it is white, crisp and smells like...a sunny day!

The Grands came .. for their school day!
They love arts and crafts.  When time permits...we love to draw.
This is a self portrait of our oldest!
Notice that ..happy face!

Our middle Grand proves...she can draw too!
I love the little square on top of her head.  When her sister asked what that was...She replied rather casually that it was  going to be a bow...but she messed up on it so she just...scratched it out!
Hmmmm...sounds so familiar to me...

The eggs were gathered earlier...and once again they are piling up.
The neighbors will only take ...so many.

Banana bread was suggested...so
Banana bread was made!

A view of the finished product...before I begin to sample....
I tweaked the recipe...(as usual)
I used coconut oil instead of butter...and added poppy seed...
It was actually....good!

I try to play with my art everyday.  Practice..is the only way to improve.
I have not figured out to make a jar look round.
But...I will not give up....

My Loyal Companion yearns for attention.  So.. as I am out and about I may carry on a rather lengthy conversation with him.  He listens..and seldom replies!
His girl-friend The Lab, was given a new toy.
Loyal grabbed it, ran home and buried it.
I explained to him that he was breaking one of the Ten Commandments ...
But.....he did not have any thing to say...so I am afraid he was not listening..

My day is filled with ups and..downs, some fun and some...not so fun!
As the sun sets ..I pray that I may have made a positive impact on someone...And if I  failed in any way...that I may be forgiven.
From the pasture...may your week be..blessed!

Wild Flowers..All Around The Pasture..

Blooming wildflowers cause me to conjure up a plan....
Maybe...a little field trip with the grands..hmmm
Nature is educational...right...!
Math...Language Arts...and of course Science...I think I can pull it off...

Only minutes in the pasture and..bam... wild flowers jumped in our basket!
Did you notice the special blue flower that  we Texans revere?
The Grands and I were extra careful...not to get any roots....

Oo la la.... I love this time of year!

To make our day complete..  We researched and learned how to press our bounty!
There is so much one can do with....flat flowers!

The rose bush was planted here first....and then the neighbors..moved in!

It is late in the afternoon.  The weather is ...perfect.
The girls and their..man mozzie along grazing before dusk.
Their young run, jump and chase each other all around the herd.
This is....heaven...in the pasture!
And..for now ...everything is..perfect..
Blessings!

Easter..In The Pasture..

I could tell you this little straw bunny hopped onto my porch and landed on this little table but... that would be silly....And there is nothing silly about celebrating Easter.

My Savior gave His all....just to pay my ransom.

After all He did for me ...I can still really make a mess ..of things.

And always He is just a prayer away....
When I repent....He forgives...
Every time.

Wild bees have made their home in this Post Oak tree.
Like the bees...sin is seeking a host....
But the scriptures tell us if we will draw near to God...He will draw near to us!
O what a Savior!

The scriptures also tell us that if we cease to praise God....The very rocks  will cry out...For Our God will be praised!
I believe that along with believers...nature praises our Lord.
Life  has been a little...hard around here for the past two weeks.  But God is faithful.
From the pasture where...WE BELIEVE!
Blessings

Feeling Some Pride...

Local county fairs are going on ...in many counties this week.
Two of our Grands were participating in the pre-rodeo events at their fair.
Sweetheart and I came to root for the "home-team"!
Walking up the steps ...The U.S. flag greeted us.  Every time I see Old Glory ...I get goose bumps.
I am so proud and thankful to be a citizen of this...Great country.

There is our youngest Grand....He's the cute one on the end.  He had a little trouble with his..stick horse.
I'm sure it was the loud "Go" that scared him.  Anyway his horse just would not go...
He's still a winner to us...And yes his Bella and Poppy were beaming...from the stands...
Whoo-hoo...Our kiddos will always be winners...to us!

All it took was a little sweet talk...and....now his horse will go!  And go he did...
We ...are just a little proud....

And do you see our adorable middle Grand?  You can't miss her...she's the beautiful one in the pink!!
She and her best buddy received a ribbon for finding their boots in a large pile of...boots!
Our oldest Grand was in the stands rooting for the family!  Finding her boot in a pile of smelly boots...just isn't her...thing!

As we prepared to leave...there it was...Our state flag flying at half staff..
A reminder...that while we celebrate life and enjoy living...
Our military must be on guard right here...at home.
To the soldiers of this great land....
Who risk their lives so that our next generation can live in...peace and have freedom..
Thank-you.
May God protect you and forever bless you.
From the pasture ...
Where it bares repeating...I am So thankful to be an American..
Blessings...

Dog-house For Mr. Donkey

Mr. Donkey is in the ..dog-house..again!
A large trail-ride came by our pasture home last weekend.  Mr. Donkey...decided to ..join them.   He tried so hard to impress the female...horses.  He showed them all of his...donkey moves.  A very kind Cowboy roped Mr. Donkey and brought him back to our pasture.  Mr. Donkey showed everyone his jumping skills and ...jumped the fence...again.
Ummmm...Mr. Donkey you are in trouble....

Mr. Donkey is spending a few days in the...cow lot. ( aka confinement )  This time of year....we never know when there might be another....trail-ride!

The new calves as well as the older ones are enjoying some pasture time without Mr. Donkey...

A view of the pasture...through our back door...

And here is my ah-ha moment!
The Sweet Gum tree that I have been waiting on  is now...in full leaf!
Dis-claimer....the cow that would not move should not be a part of  this picture..
..
From the pasture....I'm praying your life is full of ...blessings!
