Snow Day...

 Sometimes a girls got to do ...what a girls got to do....and on this cold snow day...I felt the need to fill the old Tonka up with....snow!  It was a cold job...but someone needed to do it!

 Sweetheart had the day off....and he felt the need to ...hay the cows.  The tractor really made some muddy tracks.

 Sweetheart had to improvise ....he wore some socks on his..hands to keep them warm on this very cold day!  He is such a trooper....There is a million reasons why I ...love him....Getting out in the cold to feed the cows....is just one of them!

The snow banked up around the trees...

 Loyal Companion found one of his yard...toys...it was frozen stiff.  He tried to shake the snow off but....it was really stuck.  Toys are not much fun to play with when they are...stiff!

 The porch steps were...covered as well as the porch.  This made for some very careful walking. 

Hot co-co to warm my....hands and my tummy!

And now Mr. Weatherman says that we could do this all again....

Really I have had...enough!  After the beautiful snow finally melted we had...mud.  We still have mud.  There is mud all around the hay rings.  It is all around my porch.  And ..it is all over our shoes.

And right about now I remember that we have so much to be grateful for.  How can I grumble over a little...mud.

A Little Celebration...

 Well....we've had a little excitement ...here in the pasture...

This little group of bovines appear to have heard the news...and I'd say they are...excited!

 We always get excited when there is a newbie...but there is something else to be excited  about today...

 Here in the chicken house...they know all about the exciting news....because without them....I would not be able to show you ...this.....

Here it is!  The first egg for this year!  Because our days are getting just a tad bit longer...the girl chicks will soon get their egg business back up and running!

Out here in the pasture....we celebrate the little things!  

The weather man says...maybe snow in the next day or two!

If he is right...we will need to get in plenty of fire wood so that we can stay warm and toasty while we drink hot co-co and ...celebrate!

A Special...Visitor

 Someone special....a long time friend....came for a visit....to our pasture home..

 Hmmm....something good to eat is in order. I made this cake...and then fixed us some lunch while the cake baked....  My oven must be lopsided!  One side of this Milk-Cake was so thin....it became as crisp as a chip!...Ummmmm that chip was..good!  (I could never serve that...to someone special ..so..I ate it!)

I behaved proper....and only ate a little....but when special friend had left....I sampled a little more..

 My special friend always brings me....goodies.

  

After  much talking... a lot of giggling,  lunch and of course..the cake..my special friend need to head .. home.

Some of the calves....watched her leave.  We were sad to see her...go...

Friends add so much to our lives...

Having Fun Yet?

 Loyal Companion came with me as I went for a little stroll ..out in the pasture.

Some of the calves were up...Calves love to have ... fun.!

Loyal ...is a little guy..and to him a calf is...big!  The calves love to...chase him.  He does Not love them back!  This is Not fun to him....

Oh ..no...he is getting closer....run little Loyal...run!

 After a good game of...chase the dog...it is time to conquer the hill!  I think he is wondering ...if anyone is watching him...and yes...I am!

 Ya..hoo!  I love to run!  I haven't a care in the ..world!

He rounded up some of his ..buds...and now they all...  run...like the wind!

Can you tell...I love it here!  While there is a lot of .. work...it is a wonderful..life!

God has so blessed us with His creation...I hope you are able to ..enjoy it too!

The Animals..Speak!

"Man....I told her that angle did not work for me...."  sigh....

Proof positive...calves will do....anything!  This little one is inside the hay ring while his Moma...eats the hay!

"I don't think I'm too big to play....in the hay!"

I get to see this sweet little face every morning.  This is our little newbie that was born so...little. It is a great way to ...start my day!

  

 "Ahhhh...that sun feels...so good!"

No animals here....but the Grands did come up today.  They are non stop....fun!  I so enjoy listening to their stories and watching them....grow!  We all went to the barn so that the kiddos could have a look see at the newbie calf... and just like me.....they are in love with her!  They suggested that we call her "Little Black Minute"....because she is not bigger than a minute ...and she is black and so beautiful!

Things are beginning to get busy....here at the pasture.  Our niece will be getting married here....in the pasture this ...March!  Lots to do....but it will be...fun!

Once In A Blue Moon...

A few days ago....I was looking for a newbie.  The girl cows were acting strange that day so....I gave up my search for her ...but continued looking the next day.  Bingo....I found her.  Every once in a blue moon....this will happen.  A calf will be born that is not bigger than...a minute.  Here she is ...a  very tiny minute!  Every time I see her I just want to pick her up and put her in my....pocket!  Do I love her....I love all babies, and this one....has my heart...right in her.."pocket"!

She is so....sweet!  She has to reach up just to get to her dinner!  For the next couple of weeks they will be residing at the...barn.  I can take better care of them if I do not have to go....hunting for them!

I shared the news of the new calf with the girl chicks...apparently they had already heard ....I over heard them...discussing the possibility of the newbie coming from an....egg!  They are forever gossiping about something...

The cold weather is...here again.....In our area this kind of cold happens once in a ....blue moon!

I plan on checking out that moon....tonight...I want to know if maybe it is...blue! Because it is some kind of cold out there!

Check on your older family members and friends...make sure they are..warm!
