Computer....problems!

This beautiful moon ... woke me up the other night....it was like a flashlight shining in on my face.  But it was...so beautiful!  I had to go out on the porch and get a picture.   The moss growing on this tree may look a little creepy to you...but I think it looks Beautiful!

Loyal Companion showing me his scary face....Not..scared!

As usual....I've been playing with my paints. Drawing and painting with my watercolors ...is my de-stressor!  And now..  I would like to explain the tardiness of this post....my computer has been....shall we say....acting a little goofy!  I think it has too much stuff  (not the correct technical word)  on it..and..so  now it is getting some needed attention.  Fingers crossed....hoping that what ever they are doing to it will....make it act like a computer and not a dart board!

This big ole pumpkin was carved at the
Pumpkin Carving Party by one of the girls.  This picture was taken a few days ago.  Today....the B in Boo fell out....now it  says oo!
I hope you and the little ones in your life have a safe place to go on the 31st.  We will probably be here....at our home in the pasture...holding down the fort...or....pasture!
Praying for blessings to you .... from the pasture where the pumpkin says OO!

Pumpkin Carving Time..

Every year..about this time, our Daughter and Son-n-law host a Pumpkin Carving Party.  Cousins and neighbors from all around come over to carve, eat and play....with pumpkins.  A tradition that started around five years ago.

Pumpkins and people of all sizes come to carve!
The little ones can learn so much at an event like this....like... pumpkins have a distinct odor....and maybe....you have to be a certain size to use the carving tools....and most importantly....they are dearly loved and treasured by their family!

And when you get tired of carving...you play with the....pumpkin innards.  Nothing but fun on this evening!

In the house there are the makings for nachos....but out here near the campfire....you can find the ingredients to make....Smores!    yummmmmmmm!

Oh yea....my kind of supper!  Notice the initials on the firewood....really I couldn't tell you why...

Show off time....here are just a few of the kiddos...the big kids went into hiding....
Traditions are so important for children...and adults alike.  Like Thanksgiving and Christmas, this Pumpkin Carving Party is an event that the kiddos eagerly await. Traditions represent security in an upside down world.  I pray for the readers of my little blog....may our world find peace....in Jesus!
Blessings from the pasture.....

The World Outside My Kitchen Window...

Outside my kitchen window....there is a mound of dirt that was formed when we were building our home. It is one of our "some day" projects....some day we are going to level that mound ...But for now...the calves and our Grands...love to play on it. I caught Double Dipper, one of our heifers, playing "Queen of the Hill."  I walked right up to her...but she would not budge off of her "hill."

I gathered the eggs this afternoon and found this......This egg has bumps and creases in the shell.  It is irregular in its shape.  This is the second one I have found this year...and I still wonder....was this painful to produce?  The girl chicks were all up and running.....so.....I guess ....all it well....

When I can find a little spare moment....I play with my paints.
There is so much beauty in nature....but sometimes....you have to look for it.
I brought in this leaf, put it on my art table.....and...drew it the way I see it....then applied some watercolors!
I know.... beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

In regards to the condition of our beloved America...I want to share a line from a beautiful song.
"Take your burdens to the Lord, and leave them there."
From the pasture.....blessings to each of you.

Thank-you!

Just a little "thank-you" for ... stopping by....

I came across a new recipe for Ginger Cookies in the new Better Homes.  Yes....they are good!  Very good in fact! They call for fresh ginger.  If you haven't used fresh ginger before...it is a root and has to be peeled.  I always eat too many cookies...if they are home made.  And if no one is looking....I can really put them away...

Look what we have growing in our little fall garden....red and yellow bell peppers.  They are every bit as good as Mr. Kroger's....just not as big!  The grapes are from summer (Possum Grapes) and we want to see if we can cultivate them next year..so these are drying out for seeds. I think they look good with the peppers....

It is fall in our pasture...home.  So we have pumpkins...  everywhere..not the real kind...the paper kind!  They do not taste as good...but they store better than the real kind...and last...a very long time!
When my kiddos were little I decided to impress them and some of their friends with my pumpkin carving skills.  My knife slipped, and I nearly cut off my thumb.....they were quite impressed...ended my carving days..forever!

The girls (cows) came up to the house to do a little...yard work.  Mr. Donkey wasn't far behind.  It looks like he was assigned to weed eating.  He missed some...
Sweetheart and I worshiped at our wonderful country church Sunday.  I hope you have a church that you call "yours" also.  Having a faith in Jesus Christ,  belonging to a Christian church, and surrounding yourself with like minded friends....is such a blessing.
From our home...out in the pasture....may you be richly blessed!

Time On My Hands!

During the heat of summer....I went to a "tag sale."  I found a stack of old...very old...magazines.
Thumbing through the pages can be very....entertaining!
This advertisement is for....a mattress  company.  Can you imagine jumping on your bed?  This seems a little strange to me...but it does look like fun!

This car advertisement says...you get that "big car" quality and beauty...but you pay less!  Hmm....today you get ....a match box that feels like a ......matchbox....and never mind what you will pay for it! Can you imagine the metal that is in the above car?   It could be a tank!

She is selling "toilet soap!"  I don't understand the grapes...except they look like her necklace.

Pepsi women are very....thin.  It appears she is at a picnic.  I wear tight dresses and fly away hats when I go to picnics too!  Then I drink Pepsi....and  just  feel ...so...thin!  Not!

Sweetheart and I are enjoying the beautiful fall weather.  I think I'll plan a trip...maybe to a ....National Monument or ...just a walk in a nearby National Forest...
Keep praying...America needs it.  Blessings from the pasture!

Fair On The Square...

Chippy and pealing doors, fresh hay stacked...this booth at the Huntsville Fair on the Square was an attention getter!  The kiddos out did themselves .... again!  My Momma had a hard time imagining why anyone would want their picture in front of an old pealing door...but they did...by the droves!

They  had hand made goodies and some old stuff.to sale... it looked like a barn sale!

Lots of oooo and ahhh things.....everywhere!

Many shoppers stopped for a picture....and a little shopping too!

 Dogs came....they make great customers!

When you get tired of looking at everything ... you just climb a tree. (Or jump off the courthouse steps)  My little grand knows how to entertain himself!  Watching the little ones....can be very entertaining
.

Back home at the pasture.....its life as usual!
Sister's dog has heard about Pooh Bear...and he's looking for his own "bunny-honey.!"
Sweetheart and I had a busy but wonderful weekend.  Revival at our little country church!  It was ...wonderful!
From our "life as usual" pasture....blessings to you!

Houston....We Have A Problem...

With the Fall season...small towns everywhere ( and some larger towns too...) have festivals and fairs to celebrate and enjoy being outside...before the cold weather sets in.  Our lovely town is no exception.  Every year for the past 38 years Huntsville has held their "Fair on the Square."  Food, crafts and just plain good fun.  Two of our kiddos are photographers.  They will have a booth again this year....with a new theme for some very fun pictures!  Here lies our little problem.....For this weekends fair they needed hay.  They have staged a mock booth in front of our home.  Most of the props are now inside the house however the hay was stacked on the porch......

Surprise....cows do like fresh hay.....and our home is in the pasture!  We do not have a fence around our home yet...( that will be a future project )  Here are a couple of our pets enjoying some supper!  I shooed them with all the cowgirl shoo power I could muster....I guess I did a good job because they tore out and tore up a rose bush or two....silly girls. ... and then ...they came right back.

 I want more hay.....

 Mr. Donkey smelled the hay....

"I'm here for hay..." And so Mr. Donkey came up on the porch for his little snack....
This door thing is one of the props for the photo booth.  Everyone should have one in there yard!

Sweetheart and I woke up this morning to learn that our government had....shut down!  Oh dear, what will we do?   Same thing we always do.  All we really need for the gov to do is....protect our borders and keep our military up and going.  So....we don't need all of those "other things" that the government has  made their business....nope!   Our country has hit a rough spot...if this scares you and gets you wondering about your future....let me suggest that you put your trust and faith in The Lord Jesus Christ.  By the way....it appears He will be returning....very soon!
From our pasture....may you be blessed!
