I hear rumors that...there is someone new....in the pasture...

Yep-ee!  This mountain belongs to ...me!

Hi....I'm new around here. 

 Oh....here I go!  Woe....

I'm picking up speed!

 Run....for you life!

 Mean while....back at the farm house....something new appeared on the wall.

It looks like a mosquito hawk....with a very long attachment.

Sleeping in the kitchen.

Just for today....I'll let him finish his Sunday nap.... 

Later I'll remind him that....he belongs ...outside!

Ahh...refreshed and invigorated!

Ready to .....see the world...and chase the new calf!

This is one very spoiled...very loved....pooch!

In many ways...life is getting back to normal...(somewhat)

here in the pasture!

Pasture Celebrating

 Two special guys.

Two special birthdays....

One little....one not so little!

One... very hot....day.

 New toys...and not so new toys....

A couple of dirt piles...

A pool of cold water....just to cool off...you know...

Barrels would be fun....

Stick a few on top of the piles...let the kiddos figure out what to do....

(And they did)

A little dirt want hurt anything.....

 This is straight from the....donkeys mouth....(so to speak)

I'm hopelessly in love with the guys in my life.

When I think of how much God has blessed me.....

I'm totally overwhelmed.

I Thought It Would Be So Easy....

 It is like being in a math class all over again.

I should remember.  

But ....I don't.

I seem to be very slow....at figuring out my new computer.

Will I ever figure out what I am doing?.....

Awesome morning sun-rise....right outside our window.

Loyal has a good memory.

He remembers where he has buried ( or hid ) all of his....toys!

Maybe he could learn this new computer....

You are the reason that our porch floor had to be replaced.

Please don't chew on or  paw on our new floor.

And yes.....I have a new computer..

How can I not ever love you.

Always trying to cheer me....

Forget the new computer...lets go find some more of your buried toys!

A replacement heifer that I've already dubbed...Big Red!

Maybe....just maybe she could help....me ....

I'll keep trying..

I will not give up...

I'll try to stop whining.....NOT!

Really...I am so grateful for this passed down to me...new computer.

And...I know everyone is right...once I learn how to maneuver it...

It will be much easier and faster.

Fall is starting to happen in the pasture....

From way out here....in the pasture...

Working On A New Computer.....

 Loyal is sharing a little secrete.

His buddy is ...bored.

For days we have had spectacular clouds.

But not productive clouds.

The pasture is...crispy.

We need rain! 

 On Sunday....the thunder started.

A few booms in the weather and...Loyal becomes an attack dog.

 Dark sky's...a little thunder boomers...

and

we hope.....

When a month passes by and there has hardly been any precipitation....

All we need is a few

Dark sky's and.......some day dreaming starts to take place! 

 Go Loyal and  take your friend along.  Maybe the two of you can lasso some rain out of the sky...

 Oh...yea..bring on the rain!

Mr. Bull hoovers under a tree ...as the rain and thunder let loose over our pasture!

This is what we are talking about....1 1/2 inches of....pure delight!

Come back pasture....

Bread....And A Stolen Toy..

Looking through one of my...many cookbooks, I came across this..eye catching picture.  (Well this is the kind of stuff that catches my eye ..)

I was inspired....to make this..soda bread. 

I checked my cupboard...and made the necessary substitutions... for any ingredient that I did not have...(you know you can do that....make substitutions..that is. )

 The recipe called for orange zest.   Dratzola...someone ate the last orange...a few months ago...

Lemon will do...and why would any-one put so many different kinds of seeds....I only have poppy..so poppy seeds it is....and only is!

This made a thick batter....so it had to be scooped into the bread pan.

Afterword...it needed to be tasted...just to make sure that all of my substitutions worked well together.

A little on the salty side...so I made a note to use less salt...next time.

 

 A little time in the oven.....and

 Soda bread is done.  It needed a little sweet..so I used good ole honey to dip my little bitty slices in.

The addition of honey has the capability to make...anything...delicious!

 A new toy was bought for one of the other...dogs on the place.   However...Loyal wants it..and it appears he plans to make it ..his.

 Back so soon...and with such a big toy....too!

Much later in the day...I found the new toy...hidden.

Loyal buries all of his...treasures.

I've been away from my art table...for too long.

With all of the comings and goings on around here....a suitcase seemed the perfect little thing to....paint!

I am using a new computer...

I am prepared to ...learn..

Here is hoping that you Can teach and ole.....ahhh girl!  new tricks!!
